Top Manchester, NH Personal Trainer Transforms Your Health and Fitness
As I said in my recent post Crunches Don’t Burn Belly Fat, the size of your belly has A LOT to do with WHAT you put in it! And if you’re eating foods your body cannot tolerate, it doesn’t matter how much you exercise—you WILL NOT get rid of your paunch if you continue to eat these offending foods!
Here’s why.
Eating foods you’re intolerant to seriously impairs your abdominal function. Anytime you eat offending foods, they cause inflammation in your gut. Your inflamed organs then send pain signals to your abdominal muscles through your nervous system thereby causing your abdominal muscles to become weak and non-responsive to exercise. And the greater level of inflammation you have in your gut, the greater the chance your body will not respond to exercise! So no matter how hard to train your abs, you will not achieve a tight, flat tummy!
How Do You Know If You Have a Food Intolerance?
When you eat, within minutes to a few hours, your body gives you signals.
If you’ve eaten the right foods for your body in the right proportions, you should feel good after—an overall sense of improvement in your well being.
If, on the other hand, you experience negative reactions like gastrointestinal distress after eating certain foods, there’s a good chance your body doesn’t tolerate those foods.
Some common signs of food intolerance:
Taking Action Against Food Intolerance to Reduce Your Paunch Belly
Although there are blood tests that you can take to determine food intolerance, the most practical way is to “test” yourself by eliminating suspected “problem” foods from your diet for at least 60 days.
After 60 days you can try adding the suspected foods back into your diet one by one. If you experience any adverse reactions, you’re probably intolerant to that food, and therefore, you should avoid it.
The Most Common “Offenders”
More and more people are realizing that many of their health problems are associated with intolerance to gluten (found in wheat, barley, rye and other grains), lactose (milk sugar) and/or sucrose (white sugar.) If you experience digestive distress and you’re not sure what foods could be triggering your problems, try eliminating all of these foods to see if you notice any improvement.
So if you have a stubborn paunch belly that you just can’t get rid of you now have a very simple solution to tackle it head on! Once you address food intolerance, you’ll start to look and feel better and that excess belly fat will melt away.
