"I decided to join the Friend Your Body Challenge because I wanted to enhance the knowledge I had in order to continue to be physically and mentally healthy.
Not only has Friend Your Body changed my way of thinking, it has changed my family’s way of thinking too! We have noticed that we all have more energy, less food cravings for junk food and feel more confident in our food choices.
A major milestone that I’ve accomplished was cutting down my coffee intake; by getting into the habit of drinking water first thing in the morning, I began to have less cravings for coffee. Drinking water has also improved the amount of headaches I’ve been having.
Friend Your Body has taught me many invaluable lessons in which I will continue to use. This is definitely a step in the right direction for me!"

"Prior to signing up to join the Friend Your Body Challenge, I rarely took the necessary time to exercise and consistently prepare healthy meals.
I lead an extremely busy and hectic life involving three different teaching jobs. In addition to being a mother of three adult children, I also take care of my 87-year-old mother, and I sit on several boards and academic committees. Eating on the run had become my style for fueling my body.
Since joining Friend Your Body, I now insist on taking the time to shop and prepare healthy meals as well as exercise daily, regardless of my hectic schedule. I am consciously making healthier choices when I grocery shop.
I’ve always been a water drinker, but now I’m an 8-8 ounce glass of water drinker every day with two full glasses being consumed when I wake up and before I eat breakfast.
I no longer spend an hour on the treadmill; instead, I ride my bike, surf and play golf between my daily weight training and stretching routines.
After completing the Friend Your Body program, I will continue to make healthy food and exercise choices, making both priorities in my life.
Although I was aware of much of the information I learned during this experience, I have learned that I don’t have to make many changes all at once and that changing only one bad habit is a step in the right direction!

Just wanted to send over a note about what I think of your class. I just think it's been great! The information that you’ve provided us with it just incredible!
You can easily make small changes and still be able to feel like you are making the necessary lifestyle changes and even see some results. I am so conscious of what I am going to eat now. Yes, I still indulge in the "bad" foods, but I am eating with so much more awareness than before.
And it's not just eating that you are teaching in your class. It's about our overall physical health, which I am so interested in and just love having the knowledge at my fingertips!
I have been shopping at the A Market and eating more whole/raw foods. I want to eliminate as many processed items as I can from my diet.

"Melissa worked with both my teenage daughters recently. They both had goals to “lose weight” and “get in better core shape,” as they are athletes and have goals of improvement.
